Vision

Ramakrishna mission blind boys’ academy

Once neglected and looked down upon as burden on their families, the society having a negative, apathetic and irrational attitude towards the visually impaired, a large number of the visually challenged persons have brilliantly displayed their abilities in various fields of work with ample educational and extra educational opportunities extended to them by The Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur. The guiding force has been the words of Swami Vivekananda, “WE WANT THAT EDUCATION BY WHICH CHARACTER IS FORMED, STRENGTH OF MIND IS INCREASED, THE INTELLECT IS EXPANDED AND BY WHICH ONE CAN STAND ON ONE’S OWN FEET”. By following this message, the Blind Boys’ Academy has been trying to develop its visually impaired students intellectually, physically, educationally and socially, with the objective to place them in the mainstream of the society. Our vision is to make the students self-reliant through education and vocational training so that they gradually become the asset of the society, not a burden.
