Outstanding features of the project

NARENDRAPUR, KOLKATA – 700103 WEST BENGAL

The motto of this project is to impart intensive practical and theoretical training in Agriculture & Animal Husbandry with Mushroom Cultivation, including Braille, Mobility and Home-living to the rural blind young adults. The objective of this training is to rehabilitate them socio-economically in their village homes under the Self Employment Scheme after completion of their training. To run this project, Govt. of India, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and the State Govt. Ministry of Mass Education Extension have graciously provided the necessary guidance and annual financial assistance. Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur, Kolkata started this noble and fruitful service since 1973. The US Govt., with the approval of the Govt. of India, extended their assistance to this project as an experimental basis from the month of February 1973 to 1976.

Now we extend training on Agriculture field operations of different crops, Animal Husbandry farming e.g. poultry, duckery, cow keeping, goat-sheep rearing, fodder cultivation, mushroom cultivation, floriculture & nursery management.
